Introduction: Bob Casey is the senator from Pennsylvania.He is representing democrats and was elected to the Senate in 2007.  He is a persistent advocate for better surroundings and facilities for children.

 

Birth and family status of Bob Casey: Casey was born on April 30, 1960, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. His father, Robert Casey, was the 42nd Governor of Pennsylvania. His family is of Irish descent. Bob currently lives in Scranton with his wife, Terese and his four daughters.

 

School and college life of Bob Casey: Casey graduated from Scranton Preparatory School and then completed his undergraduate degree from the College of Holy Cross. He also received a Juris Doctor degree from the Columbus School of Law.

 

Work experience of Bob Casey: Bob began his career as a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and spent a year teaching in Philadelphia. He then practiced law in Scranton until 1996 before the commencement of his political career.

 

Political career of Bob Casey:  In 1996, Casey was elected the Pennsylvania State Auditor General. Attempting to follow his father’s footsteps, Casey ran for Pennsylvania Governor’s office in 2002. Though he lost the election to Ed Rendell, he had the support of the Democratic Party of Pennsylvania, who saw Casey as a better candidate than Rendell. In 2004, Casey was elected the State Treasurer and his reputation was so great that he was encouraged to run for US Senate by Senators Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid and even Governor Ed Rendell. He was elected to the office in 2006 and re-elected in 2012.

 

Achievements of Bob Casey: Bob Casey has introduced landmark legislation to increase access to early childhood education. He is fighting to protect the Children’s Health Insurance Program which provides health care coverage to more than 14 million American children. Bob is a leader in promoting nuclear security and combating terrorist threats.  He was one of the first to call for more decisive action in Syria to protect the United States national security at home and stability across the Middle East.
